WHEN ARTHUR AND WIN MET
Back in the 1930s
Winifred met Arthur
So the story goes like this...Winifred known as 'Win' to her friends and family, arranged to meet Arthur for a date, to the movies. Little did Arthur know that 'Win' had also made plans to meet another gentleman at the same place on the same evening! So when 2 prospective dates were there to meet 'Win' she was pleasantly surprised, chuckled to herself and the 3 of them went off to watch a movie together. We can surmise the outcome.

THE FAMILY
Arthur and Win married.... and went on to have 11 children 8 girls and 3 boys
Wells In Green Island
Arthur and Win raised their family in Green Island, Dunedin, NZ. Most of the children went to schools in the local area until they moved to Fairfield in the late 70s. With only 4 children left at home, it felt new and spacious.

Arthur and Win
After many years they eventually moved to Fairfield. Phil and Chris kept their pigeons. Vanessa, Elaine and Adrienne came too. Win collected more birds. canaries, love birds and budgies. Arthur grew the mean garden with some beautiful exotic plants.
What Followed
Having taken over Green Island and then moved on out to Fairfield the only next logical step was to end up in Mosgiel. And that is where Win and Arthur retired to spend the rest of their days together .... BUT the story doesn't end there.. Because of course, their 11 children went on to have 30 something grandchildren and they went on to have 40 something great-grandchildren and on the story goes....

First came June then John, Ngaria, Carolyn, Robyn, Viv, Vanessa, Elaine, Phil, Chris & Adrienne

The Next Generation
Eventually, the grandchildren came along......with many memories of playing with cousins at the grandparents. Birds to be admired, berries and currants to be eaten. Blankets and pixies made by Win.
